Ciao tutti!
Spring is a beautiful and special time of year and it’s also a time to change up your routine on several levels to prepare your body, mind, and soul for a new, warmer season. Today, I’m sharing some changes I like to make around this time of year to be refreshed and ready for spring in all ways.
1. Make a Few Diet Changes
As we transition into spring and then summer, we don’t have to be eating the same heavy and hearty types of foods. Spring and warmer weather is a lighter energy. Our bodies work better in warmth, so it feels great to eat accordingly. Also, we can take a tip from Mother Nature on this topic, as there is a reason why certain foods grow in certain seasons- they suit our bodies and provide us with the nutrients and energy we need at the time that we need them most!
Some changes I like to make to my diet going into spring include eating less nuts, less root vegetables, less hearty and heavy dishes and more fruit, water, raw vegetables, and salads. I still start every morning with warm water with lemon and my green smoothie!
2. Lighten up your beauty regimen
I make some big – and much needed – beauty changes going into spring and summer. I really don’t like the feeling of wearing a full face of foundation when it’s warm out and you sweat more etc. (side note: I am definitely a sweater for all those out there like me.)
So I really limit my everyday makeup to a full layer of Egyptian Magic cream, concealer for any blemishes, blush and mascara. Our skin usually improves going into spring with all the fresh oxygen, time outside, and maybe a little tan, so I like to take that time to give my skin more of a break than in the fall and winter months.
3. Get more oxygen
Still one of the most life-changing books I’ve ever read, Jumpstart Your Metabolism by Pam Grout really opened my eyes about the importance of breathing properly and getting more oxygen into the body. What better time to do that than now?
Starting in the spring I crack my windows open for at least 15 minutes per day to get fresh air circulating in my home to get all the stagnant air and energy constantly moving out. I also just try to be outside as much as possible- for workouts, instead of taking other transportation to get places, and just for peaceful walks.
Increasing oxygen flow into the body has too many benefits to list in full (you must read this book!), but for now, it helps the body reach a more alkaline pH level of the blood, aids in digestion, helps fight diseases and ailments, and results in weight loss.
4. Do a deep cleaning
Spring cleaning is not a new concept, but it’s important to include in talking about detoxing on all levels. Major closet clean
outs, digital clean outs, and thorough home cleaning can make you feel like a new, lighter person. Crack a window while cleaning, and you’re cookin!
For emotional and mental health, getting rid of things that no longer serve us is amazing to practice regularly. My rule is if I haven’t worn or used it in one year, it’s out!
5. Treat yourself to a fun beauty change or treatment!
Something I like to do for spring is a fun change of some kind. I always get a little antsy for change at this time of the year, which can manifest itself in a number of ways. Whether that’s a haircut or lighter hair color, a spa day, or facial, it’s fun to treat yourself to something rejuvenating and new for the new season!
It can sound trivial, but in my experience, a massage or some other fun treatment can make you feel great and release some old energy.
It’s really fun to take advantage of the change of season and replace some old, stagnant energy – in whatever form that may be for you – with some happy, light, and bright energy! I’m always open for more ways to embrace spring, do you guys have any other suggestions for rolling with the change of season? <3
Love,
Amanda
Thanks for the book recommendation Jumpstart Your Metabolism by Pam Grout. I recently got into meditating and at looking for other ways to help have calming effects.

This book is such a life changer. It’s a super quick read but so so profound, I highly recommend it. It’s also really expensive on Amazon. 🙂
Love these tips! The beginning of every season is like a fresh new start, and it’s so important to keep that in mind.
Author
Yeah! I don’t limit my fresh starts to just New Year’s! 🙂
Thanks for the reminder and new tips!

Thank you for the read!
I always enjoy reading your posts, although, some things don’t apply to me; my beauty regimen is limited to a quick shower. It’s funny, here in Florida, the opposite often applies due to the weather. We open our houses in winter and let the fresh air in then. I live in a very low-crime area, so an occasional unlocked door is not a major thing. In spring, and especially summer, it gradually becomes too humid to open up the house very much, unless there’s a strong breeze. It’s the same with cleaning. When the rainy season comes, it’s a bit messier, but it’s the best time for the beach, fishing, and boating because the water is bathwater warm and the breeze is plenty.

That’s true! My dad lives in Florida and I’ve essentially grown up between Florida and Massachusetts. 🙂 There are definitely climate differences but you guys have more opportunities down there to get fresh air for sure! haha
Such a refreshing post.. I need to start making the same changes for this new season coming.. great tips! xx

Thank you! Yeah! It’s fun to start fresh 🙂
This is great Amanda! I am going to grab that book! The warm water with lemon is a total game changer in my book. By far one of the best changes I have made to my morning routine.
Author
Thank you Melissa!! That book is incredible. I only have three or four books (so far) that I feel changed my life and this is one of them. Let me know how you like it! And I totally agree about the warm water with lemon! 🙂
Great and simple tips! Just started spring cleaning as well. It’s crazy how little changes make such a big difference!

I know, isn’t it the best feeling? 🙂
Love this post! I’ve started on the spring cleaning and clearing out my wardrobe!
Author
I’ve started on my wardrobe too! But I’m waiting for when I really change my clothes from winter to spring to do a heavy clean out. Not quite warm enough here yet!
Super tips. Thank you!

Thank you!!
I also felt like spring clean in the beginning of March and so I focused on: food (no meat and more greens), digital detox, declutter and closet clean. Just as you say, it is a perfect way to slide into the new season. I would keep the habit of digital for the rest of the year, really loved it 🙂
Author
That sounds awesome! Yes I try to really keep up on the digital lately too. It helps to keep that good, lighter feeling around all the time.
Agree. It is such a shift in perspective, even though I do it one day a week. Keeps me in balance and out of my Instagram addiction :)))
Author
That’s a good idea, I should do it weekly too 😊 you’re better than me at it haha
Oh yeah, better, well if you think so 🙂 It took me a long time to start it. But it is actually a simple habit: you just try for only one day (and then you are hooked ;))
Author
that’s true! I’m going to try and include it as a more regular practice for sure. 🙂
You won’t regret 😉
Amazing post! I’m definitely going to use these tips xx.

Hi Bellezza,
Thanks for these useful tips. I always put lemon in water, but I’m using plain water and not a warm one. When season changes, daily routine and skin care routine also changes because our environment also affects the way we live and so does our body.
Author
Hey! Room temp water with lemon is great too! I like to do warm water in the mornings just to make it extra easy on my body to process but I love drinking water with lemon all day long. I totally agree. I like changing up my skincare routine with the seasons too. 🙂
