I’ve been wanting to write a favorites-style post for a while now so I finally got one together. (woohoo!)
Whether it’s a new gadget, a book, or a beauty product, I am always on the hunt for new, cool things. When I get hooked on something, I want to share them with you guys so here we are! 🙂
1. Chella Eyebrow Gel
First up is an awesome beauty discovery courtesy of my Birch Box subscription. As those of you who have read my beauty posts may know, I am rather into brows.
For years I have spritzed some hair spray on a spoolie brush to set my eyebrow hairs in place for the day. It’s a really simple and effective solution and I had never previously found an eyebrow gel that I thought compared.
I’ve been using this gel for the last two months (it was a generous sample size!) and I love it! It’s not as strong of a hold as hairspray, but you don’t always need that. I still like to use my hairspray technique for nights out or long days. For everyday, this gel is super easy to just throw on and it’s medium hold does the job. It’s also a clear gel because I most definitely do not need to be adding color to my brows.
2. Lumee two phone case
This is kind of a silly product, but this phone case is a lot of fun and really works! I was originally gifted the first version of the Lumee case for Christmas and it was just too bulky for me. I paid the difference and exchanged it for the Lumee two. It’s definitely thinner and lighter, though still heavier than your average phone case.
That being said, it really works and solves the problem of not being able to capture a great photo in less-than-ideal lighting. I like to pop it on my phone before a night out—you never know when photo inspiration will strike! 😀
3. Zen and the Art of Happiness
This inspirational, quick read was suggested to me by my sister. The author is Chris Prentiss, the co-founder of Passages, the renowned rehabilitation center in Malibu, California. I was feeling in need of a pick-me-up read and a little boost of positivity to keep me on track and this one is very cool and all about creating happiness for yourself.
The point that he highlights most in the book is to really believe and live this idea: “Everything that happens to me is the best possible thing that can happen to me.” (Not to be confused with “trying to see the bright side in a bad situation.”) He emphasizes that you need to discipline your mind and whole heartedly trust and believe in this. Very simple yet profound read.
4. Beauty Counter Tint Skin Foundation
I was planning on dedicating a whole post at some point to this AMAZING skincare brand I came across, Beauty Counter. They are all about clean, good-for-you cosmetics. I love what they stand for and have been so impressed with several products that I have purchased from them thus far. I had been in desperate need of a better foundation in terms of ingredients and I found this lovely company.
The tint skin foundation is a great formula that can provide coverage as light or as heavy as you like. I just blend it in with my fingers. I love knowing that my foundation-something that goes all over my face on a regular basis-does not have harmful ingredients.
5. Satin Pillowcase
In my last post I professed my love for my satin pillowcase. To reiterate, sleeping on silk is amazing for: retaining moisture in your skin, fighting bed head, fighting wrinkles and feeling more luxurious! 🙂
This has been a really fun and useful find for me, and I can’t recommend it enough!
Let me know what you guys think of this kind of post. I am always discovering and eager share new things that pop into my life so it’s something I can do more often if you guys like it! 🙂
