This is the first post of this kind that I’ve done, so I’m curious to see if it’s something you guys would like to see more of. Last night, I went to a cool event to support a friend of mine and I thought I’d show you guys a little bit about it.
The event was at Metro, which is a small theater. RAW Chicago presented this show, CUSP, on Wednesday, January 25th showcasing all different kinds of Chicago artists. There were different little stands set up with paintings, drawings, jewelry, makeup, hair, and more.
My favorite booth (which I unfortunately did not get a close-up photo of) was this one at the bottom of the above photo: Brittnie Nicole Illustrations. She makes these beautiful fashion drawings. I haven’t ever really seen anything like these and thought they would be perfect for a dressing room or bathroom on the wall. So cute and different! She has an Etsy shop and creates custom illustrations as well.
My favorite part of the event (and the reason why I came) was to see my beautiful and talented friend, Ellie Hottinger’s fashion show. Her clothing line, Emah The Label, is STUNNING. All the pieces are handmade, so there are limited quantities available of each item. The pieces are classic, feminine, and easy to wear. Her looks really stood out at the event, and I’m just in awe of the craftsmanship behind each piece. I will definitely be doing a whole blog post in the near future featuring Ellie and Emah The Label.
My favorite part of the collection was this yellow color that came up in a few pieces, and these pants were my favorite piece! (I just realized I wore a similar color without knowing ha!) I love the bow detail and I really gravitate toward loose, easy pants. Chic yet comfy.
Thank you for reading, as always! Please let me know what you guys think of this kind of post. I think as I go to more cool events and places, it’s a nice idea to feature them. 🙂
