Winter Skincare Wonders

Winter Skincare Wonders

Hello helloo lovelies!

It is definitely starting to feel like winter now, which for me is *officially* confirmed when my skin starts to feel a bit drier and itchy sometimes.  So that means the winter skincare regime is upon us!

Winter skincare for me means extra moisturizing and exfoliating more regularly so here I have my favorite products for accomplishing both of those tasks!

1. The bestest – Egyptian Magic

I legitimately cannot. go. one. single. day without my favorite skincare friend—Egyptian Magic.  I use it every day in every season, I just amp it up in the wintertime for maximum moisturizing effects—particularly on my face.

I’ve gushed about Egyptian Magic many a time here on The Bellezza Corner, but for those new to my blog, here you go:  Egyptian Magic is life.  That is dramatic, but not untrue.

All jokes aside, Egyptian Magic All Purpose Cream is a rich balm that is made from just six natural ingredients: Olive Oil, Beeswax, Honey, Bee Pollen, Royal Jelly and Propolis Extract.  It’s so moisturizing and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth, while also working to clear up and heal blemishes in a pure and natural way.  I’ve used it ritually for over a year now, and know I can say that I have never had clearer, smoother, healthier-looking skin.  I also pop it on my hair the night before  wash and it comes out so silky smooth and hydrated.  Honestly, my favorite part of the day is taking off my makeup and treating my face to a layer of Egyptian Magic.

Bonus: It’s super affordable too! 😉

2. Shea butter

About a  year ago, I switched completely from using body lotions to shea butter and I’m still hooked.  Pure shea butter is super rich and thick and feels so much more moisturizing than body lotion, while also being better for your skin.  When you start to become aware of all the chemicals, parabens, and fragrances in store-bought body lotions, it’s actually quite scary.  Shea butter is not only a healthier alternative, it’s more moisturizing and lasts longer throughout the day in keeping your whole body from getting dry.

My favorite brand is Molivera Organics.  The one pound tub lasts a long time, and ends up being more economical than body lotion in the end as well.  For both Egyptian Magic and shea butter, I scoop up a little bit, rub it in between my finger or palms to melt a little, and then apply it to my skin.

3. Almond Oil

almond-1408599_960_720.jpgThis oil is my favorite for using all over- body, face, and hair.  It’s such a gentle, light oil that you can do anything with it without it irritating even the most sensitive skin.  I always use almond oil to dilute my essential oils before applying them.  You can also apply some to your eyelashes as a natural way to grow them nice and thick!

But my favorite use for almond oil (that I do regularly in the winter) is to add a bunch of drops into a bath.  When you get out of the bath after a little soak, your skin feels like a little baby tushy.  And it requires no work!  Such a dream.  My favorite brand is Now Solutions.

4. Coffee scrub

IMG_2311.jpgMy most exciting skincare discovery lately (in addition to my new face mask find) is this amazing coffee scrub.  I’ve seen a lot of scrubs like this around, and recently decided to jump on the bandwagon and it is a game changer, my friends.  I found this brand, The Home & Body Company, that has mostly natural ingredients—no added chemicals or coloring like some scrubs out there—and it makes my skin so soft it’s ridiculous.

I don’t use it everyday because I don’t want to over-exfoliate, and I definitely don’t use it on my face as it is too harsh, but it is so so lovely to use all over your body just to keep up with brushing away dead skin cells and increasing circulation.  This one is made with coconut oil and almond oil too, so instead of drying the skin out after exfoliating, I get out of the shower feeling already moisturized!  Just keep in mind when you are purchasing your scrub to find one that doesn’t have extra chemicals and colors and scents—the coffee is invigorating and fresh as it is!

And if you’re looking for the world’s greatest facial exfoliator, the Clarisonic cannot be beat!!

Do you guys have any other winter skincare favorites?  I’m always open and looking for new, natural products to incorporate into my regime! 🙂

A presto, belle!

I love Egyptian Magic! Even though I’m a sucker for good marketing (the wording on the tub is great) I think it really works a treat!

I definitely need to switch to Shea butter! Sick of using tons of lotion and not getting anywhere on these cold winter days! Love my organic coconut oil though😊

    • December 13, 2016 / 8:20 am

Yeah! Coconut oil is awesome too. For some reason I think it irritates me when I put it all over but it’s also definitely more hydrating than body lotion.

I just received Egyptian Magic in my beauty advent calendar and have been looking for ways to use it – great tips! So far I had only used it as a lip balm, so sounds like there is much more fun to be had with it. I’ll be doing a round-up review of the various products soon! 🙂
