Bright, Bold Lips For Spring!

Hey everyone!

I haven’t done a beauty post in a bit, and I’m getting into spring mode- despite the little snowstorms that we’ve had here in Massachusetts in the first couple days of April!! But I’m gonna make spring happen regardless, with my makeup, nail polish and clothes (as much as I can without freezing to death on my walk to work) and the easiest way to shift into spring mode is by popping on a bright, bold lipstick.

In this post I’m sharing my four favorite bold lip shades that are perfect for this time of year.  Enjoy!

1. Mac Vegas Volt Lipstick

I discovered this color a couple years ago and it’s my all-time favorite coral.  Super pigmented-as all Mac lipsticks are- and adds a subtle pop of color to any look.

I find that coral goes great with almost any color you’re wearing. Vegas Volt in particular is also not so bright or crazy that it can’t be worn during the daytime or with any easy, casual outfit.

2. Mac Pink Nouveau Lipstick

Another fav, another Mac.  I’ve also had this color for a few years and I have to say that every time I wear it, I get compliments! It’s the perfect rich bubblegum pink, and just screams spring.

With this shade, I am pickier in regard to what I wear with it because it’s not quite as versatile as the coral in my opinion. But I find it goes with the many feminine, romantic, pastel and white/off-white pieces of my wardrobe.

3. Covergirl Lipperfection Lipstick in Bombshell 327

The last two bold shades on my list are actually drugstore lipsticks. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of covergirl products in general, but I love love love this shade.  It’s extremely pigmented and stays on really well throughout the day.  (And is only like $4!)

Now this is a boooold shade, my friends.  Named appropriately, “bombshell,” this shade will have you feelin’ like one in no time.  I have only ever worn this shade at night since it is such a statement, but I love the unexpected pop it adds to your look.  Looks great with a tan too!

 

 

4. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Hot Plum 900

This one has to be my favorite just color of all four.  It is like a fuchsia/ magenta with a splash of dark pink in there.  So gorgeous on any skin tone- particularly with a nice a tan 😉

Another super statement-like the hot pink shade. I don’t know if I’d ever wear it during the day, but boy, does it makes a splash at night.
